Schoulfoire 2026: the major event for educational and career guidance
The fifth edition of the Schoulfoire will take place at the Luxexpo The Box exhibition centre in Luxembourg-Kirchberg from 19 to 22 April 2026. The Schoulfoire, the largest annual event dedicated to educational and career guidance, is primarily aimed at pupils in cycles 3 and 4 of primary education, pupils in the final year of primary education in international schools, and secondary school students. It is also open to parents and education professionals.
The Education Fair will open its doors to the general public on Sunday 19 April from 11 am to 6 pm. The general public will also have access to the Schoulfoire on Tuesday 21 April from 1 pm to 5 pm. Monday 20 April, the morning of Tuesday 21 April and Wednesday 22 April are reserved for school classes registered for Schoulfoire activities.
The full range of educational opportunities and numerous interactive workshops
Organised by the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, the Schoulfoire brings together hundreds of secondary education experts, enabling visitors to explore the full range of educational opportunities. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions and make informed decisions about their children’s educational and career paths.
The Education Fair is not only an opportunity to discover the entire educational offer, but also to take part in dozens of interactive workshops. Nine thematic training areas give children and young people an insight into different professional sectors and help them develop their interests. The programme also includes shows and presentations of educational pathways.
Two opportunities for the general public
The public day on Sunday 19 April will welcome visitors from 11 am to 6 pm. This first day of the Schoulfoire will offer all interested visitors an informative, enjoyable and discovery-filled experience. Another public session is scheduled for Tuesday 21 April from 1 pm.to 5 pm. Admission to the Schoulfoire is free of charge, and no registration is required for the workshops. A catering service provided by Restopolis will be available on site throughout the event.
A major showcase for professions
The 2026 edition of the Schoulfoire will feature LuxSkills, the final of the national skills competition held every two years. This competition brings together the best apprentices in more than 25 professional fields. Participants will be challenged to complete a defined project within a total of 22 hours, under the eyes of Schoulfoire visitors. to complete a defined project within a total of 22 hours, under the eyes of Schoulfoire visitors. The winners will have the opportunity to take part in EuroSkills 2027, the European skills championship to be held in Düsseldorf from 22 to 26 September 2027.
A large-scale event built around six pillars
- Covering a total area of more than 17,000 m² across three exhibition halls at Luxexpo The Box, as well as the area around the main entrance, the Schoulfoire 2026 is structured around six key pillars: The Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, the Maison de l’orientation and the educational offer: specialists of the education system will be present on site. While the main stand will be hosted by representatives of the Maison de l’orientation and various ministerial departments, the School Integration and Reception Service (SIA), the National Inclusive Education Service (SNEI) and the Centre for Psycho-social and Educational Support (CePAS) will also be present with their own information stands, along with the National Student Conference of Luxembourg (CNEL).
- A platform for Luxembourg secondary schools: 45 secondary schools will have a stand at the Schoulfoire, grouped together in the “Lycée village” in Hall 8.
- Workshops and shows: several hundred participatory activities will take place over the four days.
- Nine training worlds: discover all training programmes organised into thematic “worlds”: Construction, production and creation; Science, technology and IT; Nature and environment; School, education and society; Industry and mechanics; Tourism, gastronomy and hospitality; Arts, culture and languages; Economy, finance and sales; Health and beauty. Each world offers workshops and demonstrations led by professionals.
- “Léierplazendag” (Apprenticeship Day): on Tuesday 21 April from 8.30 a.m. to 2 p.m., companies looking for apprentices and young people seeking apprenticeships will meet for live matching sessions in Halls 8 and 9. This event is organised in partnership with the professional chambers, ADEM and RTL.
- LuxSkills: every two years, apprentices under the age of 25 demonstrate their skills during the LuxSkills competition. The Schoulfoire will host the final in 25 professional fields.
